Christina

Christina Judith Perri (born August 19, 1986) is an American singer-songwriter and musician from Philadelphia. Her song "Jar of Hearts" charted in the United States after it was featured on the Fox television show So You Think You Can Dance in 2010. On May 10, 2011, Perri's "Jar of Hearts" was featured in the "Prom Night" episode of Fox musical series Glee; the following month, it was featured in the episode "Dance Amongst Daggers" of ABC Family drama Switched at Birth. Perri recorded the song "A Thousand Years" for the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (2011) and it appears on the accompanying soundtrack.

She taught herself how to play guitar as a 16-year-old by watching a videotape of Shannon Hoon from the group Blind Melon performing on VH1.

Freedom

We may not be free of worries and fears. Our thoughts are free.
We may not prevent people from bothering us. We are still free to leave people bothering us.

Can you do whatever you want? Can society restrict you from doing this or that? When you are miserable, did society offer helping hands? Why society has right to restrict you from doing this or that? Do what you like to do. Think what you like to think. As long as we don't hurt others.

Among millions of people in the world, this particular person enters your life and chose you to be nice to. In a good sunny or a sad rainy day, there is someone being sweet and cute, who warms your heart in a special way. When you are still breathing, enjoy the freedom of loving and being loved. In a good sunny day, say you love him/her. Love and cherish that person - and you know who that person is. :-)))))

Calliope - Beautiful Voice

Male Calliope Hummingbird
Female Calliope Hummingbird
The Calliope Hummingbird (Selasphorus calliope) is a very small hummingbird native to the United States and Canada and, during winter, Central America. It was previously considered the only member of the genus Stellula, however recent evidence suggests placement in the genus Selasphorus. This bird was named after the Greek muse Calliope. The genus name means "little star".

The Calliope Hummingbird is the smallest breeding bird found in Canada and the United States. The only smaller species ever found in the U.S. is the Bumblebee Hummingbird, an accidental vagrant from Mexico. An adult Calliope Hummingbird can measure 7–10 cm (2.8–3.9 in) in length, span 11 cm (4.3 in) across the wings and weigh 2 to 3 g (0.071 to 0.11 oz). These birds have glossy green on the back and crown with white underparts. Their bill and tail are relatively short. The adult male has wine-red streaks on the throat, green flanks and a dark tail. Females and immatures have a pinkish wash on the flanks, dark streaks on the throat and a dark tail with white tips. The only similar birds are the Rufous Hummingbird and the Allen's Hummingbird, but these birds are larger with more distinct and contrasting rufous markings on tail and flanks, and longer central tail feathers.

Calliope Hummingbird is migratory bird, generally leaving their breeding grounds earlier than most birds to take advantage of the late-summer wildflowers in the mountains of western North America. They are believed to be the smallest-bodied long distance migrant in the world. Despite its unique characteristics in the avian world, Calliope Hummingbird has not been well studied, leaving much of its life history unknown.

BRAND

Juicy Couture (JC) is a contemporary casual wear and dressy apparels seller based in Arleta, Los Angeles, California founded by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor in 1997. It was later purchased by the Liz Claiborne fashion company, and Juicy Couture has turned into a global seller with their signature velour tracksuits and other fashions that span everything from apparel, handbags, shoes, intimates, swimwear, fragrance, accessories, sunglasses, yoga and babywear. Juicy Couture is marketed as a high-end clothing line and is aimed at females aged 10–26.

Juicy Couture and Munirah was started by two friends in 1995. Gela Nash and Pamela Skaist-Levy, both residing in Pacoima, California, decided to create their own fashion label, Travis Jeans, selling maternity pants. In 1996 the girls changed the name to Juicy Couture. From 1996, after establishing their company and needing to get public attention for the brand, Nash and Levy started to send their completed designs to celebrities. In 2001, the famous Juicy tracksuit was introduced and custom designed for Madonna; and Madonna turned the velour tracksuit into a trend. The public appearance of clothes by celebrities made the brand famous almost instantly. Madonna was the first big break through celebrity endorsement for the company. Later, in 2004, the velour tracksuit once again became very popular among celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, and Paris Hilton. Juicy Couture then became a brand known around the world for the image of being the outfit of the “new money”. Juicy Couture, which was a very limited brand being available at very few locations until the late 2000s. In 2003 Fifth & Pacific Companies, Inc. (Formerly Liz Claiborne Inc.) acquired the company.

LOGO

All of the Juicy Couture items are manufactured with the company signature logo: two highland terriers holding a shield bearing three hearts and Love G&P (for Gela and Pamela). A crown lies on top, while a Juicy Couture banner flutters above the slogan, "Made in the Glamorous USA". The logo was invented after a few years before they invented Juicy Couture.

NAME

Couture is the French word for "sewing." Couture clothes are those that are fitted and sewn specifically for a client, often requiring several fittings for an exacting fit. The clothes may be specifically designed for the client, such as a one-of-a-kind wedding dress or a one-of-a-kind red carpet ensemble, or they may be part of a designer's couture collection, which are the pieces the designer shows that are available for custom fit. Couture simply means whatever the item is that is the only one made of it. The item has to also be very exquisite. A lot of celebrities get couture items because they are one of a kind and made specifically for them.

Precious One

Pi's Lullaby is the intro song of the 2012 film Life of Pi by director Ang Lee. It was composed by Mychael Danna and sung by Bombay Jayashri. The lyrics, in Tamil, were written by Bombay Jayashri. The song earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. The nomination marks the first ever Tamil song to be nominated for a Best Original Song Oscar.

Working on the song, Director Ang Lee explained to Jayashri the mood and feeling the song should evoke. Jayashri notes in her blog that he told her: “A child sleeps not because he is sleepy, but because he feels safe". We want to be that child feeling safe and warm and protected  :-))))))

Lyrics English Translation

My darling, the apple of my eye,
Go to sleep, my dear precious one.
Are you a peacock? A peacock displaying its beautiful plumage?
Are you a Cuckoo Bird? Are you the chirping Cuckoo Bird?
Are you the moon? Are you the moon's light?
Are you the eyelid? Are you the dreams within the eyelids?
Sleep humming..
Sleep humming..
Are you a flower? Are you the sweet nectar of the flower?
Are you a fruit? Are you the sweet taste of the ripened fruit?
Sleep humming..

According to a 2001 survey, there were 1,863 newspapers published in Tamil, of which 353 were dailies. It has the oldest extant literature amongst other Dravidian languages. The variety and quality of classical Tamil literature has led to its being described as "one of the great classical traditions and literatures of the world".

Air Jordan VII

What a girl (my niece) really wants is Air Jordan 7 (VII) Retro "Orion" that was release in 2011. There is nowhere to find an authentic one to buy for her!!! The fake Jordan sites having pictures of those shoes either steal your credit card information or ship you a pair of fake shoe. Most of the time, ship nothing. There are horrible stories posted on the internet that no shipment will occur or you will receive a bill that your credit card was charged on some remote oversea store or motel that you have never been. I guess she will be disappointed at this moment. But I think the AJ 4 retro I bought for her will make her happy for a little while.

The Air Jordan 7 was worn by Mike in the 1991-92 season as well as the gold-medal winning Barcelona Olympic Games.

While wearing the Air Jordan 7′s, Michael Jordan won his third MVP award, second NBA championship, and the NBA scoring title. On top of that, Jordan took home his second Olympic Gold Medal when the Dream Team of ’92 crushed the international competition including a 116-48 rout over Angola.

The Air Jordan 7 is a very unique shoe in the Jordan line as well as a basketball shoe. The Air Jordan 7 featured Huarache technology which made the shoe really stick to your foot. The shoe was much lighter weight than some of the previous Air Jordans as well. The Air Jordan 7 was also unique in that it did not feature the “Nike Air” logo, a visible air unit, or clear soles.

Once again, designed by Tinker Hatfield, the shoe had something new. A neoprene sockliner was the first of its kind. The Air Jordan 7 was promoted in a marketing campaign in which Michael Jordan appeared with Bugs Bunny. The Air Jordan 7′s then inherited the nickname “the Buggs”.The Air Jordan 7 was a love/hate shoe. Many collectors thought it was the greatest shoe ever, while many thought it was the worst shoe imaginable. None-the-less, it is still a very popular shoe and has a large following whenever re-released. The first retro release happened in December, 2002, but Nike is set to bring the Air Jordan 7 back again. In 2004, Nike re-released the Olympic colorway to celebrate the 2004 Athens Games. In 2006, Nike is set to bring back the White/Black-Cardinal Jordan 7′s as well as a handful of Retro+’s.

Air Jordan IV Retro Thunder

It was a very difficult task to buy a pair of shoes for my niece. What she asked is Air Jordan 7 Retro or Air Jordan 4 Retro Thunder. After risking on several fake "cheap Jordan" scam sites, finally I found it in a real store (Champs Sports) inside a Mall. There are so many fake Jordan shoe sites on the internet. It is better to buy from a real store.

Interesting Fact Observed: Jordan shoes are only made for Men or Kid in School or Infant! There is almost NO Jordan shoe for WOMEN!!! ((someone guessed women don't like AJ shoes?)) Kids' shoe versions are considered as authentic ones although there are slightly differences compared to Men's versions.

The Air Jordan 4 took the world by storm in 1989. Along with a career season came a career sneaker. Tinker Hatfield designed this shoe. The Air Jordan 4 featured many new design concepts. First, the straps on the side for increased ankle support. It was nearly impossible for MJ to roll his ankle in these shoes. The Air Jordan 4 again featured the air sole heel for paded cushioning and a full length midsole. In the White/Black-Cement, the shoe featured a unique texturing nicknamed “Cookies & Cream” for its striking resemblance. The Air Jordan 4 was another masterpiece to the Jordan lineup.

While wearing the Air Jordan 4, Michael Jordan reached new points in his career. Taking home another scoring title with 32.5 points per game, Jordan also appeared in the All-Star Game, First Team NBA, and All-Defense. This year was arguably Jordan’s best year despite no championship.

It was in the Air Jordan 4′s that Jordan made “the shot” which was a series winning shot at the buzzer to advance the Bulls to the next round in a do or die situation.

Spike likes Mike

Nike continued the Jordan 4 commercials with Mars Blackmon (Spike Lee) and created the famous Can/Can’t TV commercial. Spike Lee really liked these shoes personally and gave them some extra promotion in his movie Do The Right Thing.

Unlike the first series of retro Jordans in the mid-90s, the retro Jordans were an incredible success starting with the Retro Air Jordan 4 in 1999. When the Air Jordan 4′s were retro’d 1999 in white/black and black/cement grey it was crazy. Stores sold out after a few hours and everyone seemed to want a pair. Nike, or Jordan Brand, realized that this was a golden opportunity to cash in so they started releasing so called Retro+ models. These had a similar design to the original but featured new colors or some minor design changes. There have been different reactions to the Retro+ models and not all of them have been positive but they seemed to sell pretty well so probably most people were happy with them.

The Air Jordan 4 is also the first laser etched Jordan retros to be released. An online exclusive created 2 days of chaos across the US as thousands of Jordan heads tried to logon to Nike’s website to buy the limited sneakers. Nike released 2 colors termed “thunder” (Black/Yellow) and “lightning” (Yellow/Black). The prices were $500 and $250 respectively. Despite anger on the part of many Jordan collectors, both colorways sold out.

Just the Way You Are

"Just the Way You Are" is a song by American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, and is the lead single from his debut studio album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. It was released in the United States on July 20, 2010. It has also received airplay from AOL Radio's New Pop First station. The song was written by The Smeezingtons, Khalil Walton, and Needlz and produced by The Smeezingtons, and Needlz. The music video, directed by Ethan Lader, was released on September 8, 2010 and features Peruvian born Australian actress Nathalie Kelley.

Bruno said of the song, "It took me months to come up with 'Just the Way You Are'... I wasn't thinking of anything deep or poetic. I was telling a story. Get ready to fall in love!" He added, "I'm a big fan of songs like Joe Cocker's 'You Are So Beautiful' and Eric Clapton's 'Wonderful Tonight' - songs that go straight to the point. You know, there's no mind-boggling lyrics or twists in the story - they just come directly from the heart. And to me 'Just The Way You Are' is one of those songs. There's nothing mind-blowing about it. I'm just telling a woman she looks beautiful the way she IS - and, let's be honest, what woman doesn't wanna hear those lyrics?!" The song is in the Key of F Major and consists of the chords F, D-minor and B-Flat.

Peter Gene Hernandez (born October 8, 1985), known by his stage name Bruno Mars, is raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, by a family of musicians, Mars began making music at a young age and performed in various musical venues in his hometown throughout his childhood. He graduated from high school and then moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a musical career. Mars produced songs for other artists, joining production team The Smeezingtons. In October 2010, he released his debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. Anchored by the worldwide number-one singles "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade", the album peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. Mars was nominated for seven Grammys at the 53rd Grammy Awards, winning Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Just the Way You Are". His second studio album, Unorthodox Jukebox, was released on December 11, 2012.

Mars' music is noted for displaying a wide variety of styles and influences, and contains elements of many musical genres. He has worked with an assortment of artists from various genres. As a child, he was highly influenced by artists such as Little Richard, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson and would often impersonate these artists from a young age. Mars also incorporates reggae- and Motown-inspired sounds into his work. Worldwide, Mars became the best-selling digital artist in 2011. He had three singles in the top ten, including first place with "Just the Way You Are", which sold 12.5 million copies. Mars won Best International Male Solo Artist at the 2012 BRIT Awards. Bruno Mars has sold 6 million albums and 40 million singles worldwide.

His father is of half Puerto Rican and half Jewish (from Hungary and Ukraine) descent. Mars' mother immigrated to Hawaii from the Philippines as a child, and is of Filipino and some Spanish descent. At the age of two, he was nicknamed "Bruno" by his father, because of his resemblance to legendary professional wrestler Bruno Sammartino. He adopted his stage name from the nickname, adding "Mars" at the end because "I felt like I didn't have [any] pizzazz, and a lot of girls say I’m out of this world, so I was like I guess I'm from Mars."

Her eyes, her eyes
make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair
falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful
And I tell her everyday (yeahh)

I know, I know
When I compliment her she won't believe me
And it's so, it's so
Sad to think that she don't see what I see
But everytime she asks me "Do I look okay?"
I say

[Chorus]
When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
'Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile
The whole world stops and stares for a while
'Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

...
Her lips, her lips
I could kiss them all day if she let me
Her laugh, her laugh
she hates but I think it's so sexy
She's so beautiful
And I tell her everyday

Oh you know, you know, you know
I'd never ask you to change
If perfects what you're searching for
Then just stay the same
So don't even bother asking if you look okay
'Cause you know I'll say

[Chorus]
When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
'Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile
The whole world stops and stares for a while
'Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are

The way you are
The way you are

'Cause girl your amazing just the way you are

Irish Step Dance

Irish stepdance is a style of dance with its roots in traditional Irish dance. It can be performed solo or by troupes. Two types of shoes are worn; hard shoes, which make sounds similar to tap shoes, and soft shoes, which are similar to ballet slippers. Dancers stiffen their upper bodies while performing quick, intricate footwork. Costumes are considered important for stage presence in competitive Irish stepdance. There are several levels of competition available for both individuals and groups. Riverdance, an Irish stepdancing interval act in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, greatly contributed to its popularity.

Each step is a sequence of foot movements, leg movements and leaps, which lasts for 8 bars of music, starting on the right foot. This is then repeated on the left foot to complete the step. Hard shoe dancing includes clicking (striking the heels of the shoes against each other), trebles (the toe of the shoe striking the floor), stamps (the entire foot striking the floor), and an increasing number of complicated combinations of taps from the toes and heels. [[Irish-American, did you wear green today??? Can you dance for me???? :-)))))]]

Competitive step dancing has grown steadily since the mid 1900s, and more rapidly since the appearance of Riverdance. An organized stepdance competition is referred to as a feis (pron.: /ˈfɛʃ/, plural feisanna). The word feis means "festival" in Irish, and strictly speaking is also composed of competitions in music and crafts. Féile ("faila") is a more correct term for the dance competition, but the terms may be used interchangeably.

Riverdance was the interval act in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest which contributed to the popularity of Irish stepdance, and is still considered a significant watershed in Irish culture. Its roots are in a three-part suite of baroque-influenced traditional music called "Timedance" composed, recorded and performed for the contest, which was hosted in Ireland. This first performance featured Irish Dancing Champions Jean Butler and Michael Flatley, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the Celtic choral group Anuna with a score written by Bill Whelan. Riverdance's success includes an eight-week sell out season at Radio City Music Hall, New York, with the sales of merchanise resulting in Radio City Music Hall merchandise sale’s record smashed during the first performance, sell-out tours at King’s Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland, and The Green Glens Arena, Millstreet, Co. Cork, Ireland, plus a huge three and a half month return to The Apollo in Hammersmith with astounding advance ticket sales of over five million pounds.
